桃李，指学生。见“桃李”条。门墙，师门。见“门墙”条。桃李门墙指所栽培的学生后辈。《明・汤显祖・牡丹亭・第七出》：“你待打，打这哇哇，桃李门墙，崄把负荆人唬煞。”亦作“门墙桃李”。
